Two app updates in one week: versions 7.13 and 7.14 are mostly about spots and about the time after the flight.
Drohnie’s spot search and spot suggestions
The new spot suggestions map layer (Map › Map view) shows worthwhile subjects near you from OpenStreetMap: bridges and viaducts, dams, castles, ruins, lighthouses, windmills, waterfalls and more. Each one has a geozone traffic light. Red means: subject only, flying there is not allowed.
In Drohnie’s spot search you rate official aerial photos of such subjects: worth a flight or not? Five photos per round, from all 16 German states. Add the tile via “Customise dashboard”.
Post-flight check
After importing a flight, Hoverpoint checks the track: altitude above 120 m, geozones along the track (Germany, today’s DIPUL data), distance beyond your drone’s visual range from the hangar, and night flight. It is no legal assessment, but it shows what could go better next time.
Litchi export and briefing as PDF
- Waypoint routes as Litchi CSV for the Litchi Mission Hub, with altitudes, headings, curves, gimbal pitch, point of interest, photos, videos and wait times (beta).
- Flight briefing as PDF with geozones, NOTAMs, the weather on site and, inside a control zone, the aerodrome weather (METAR/TAF).
Official zones offline – in eleven countries
If you download an offline region in Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Ireland or Spain, the official geozones come along. The zone check then works there without a connection, too.
Also new
- Protected areas abroad: bird, habitat and national protected areas from the European Environment Agency as a separate advisory layer.
- Geozones in Austria, Estonia, Norway and Ireland now also appear as areas on the map.
- The official DWD severe weather warnings and the subjects in “Check surroundings” are now in the app as well.
- NOTAMs: areas given only as a coordinate list in the text are now read by Hoverpoint itself.
- Android: updates download in the background, the app is ready to use right away.
