Two new features for flight planning in the browser, both free and without Pro.
Official warnings from the German Weather Service
The weather check now shows the official DWD warnings for your location in Germany: gusts, thunderstorms, heavy rain, fog or ice. The colour shows the warning level, together with the time period; tap to see the description and advice. If there is no warning, the card stays hidden. The warning texts come from the DWD in German.
Check surroundings – now with photo spots
A wish from the community: every page of the community spots now has a “Check surroundings” button. At a glance it shows:
- Geo zones at the spot and within 300 metres
- Parking nearby, with directions
- Photo spots nearby: viewpoints, castles, ruins, lighthouses, waterfalls – with distance and direction, and Drohnie tells you which one is worth it
And in the app?
Both come with the next app update, including the photo spots in the app’s surroundings check.
Important
Photo spots and parking come from OpenStreetMap and are not complete. Whether you may fly at a location is still shown by the map with geo zones, NOTAMs and weather.
By the way: editors and partners can now download a press kit and a partner kit.
